Oak
Oak leaves have historically been used as plates for holding food. When these began to be offered to the gods, the oak gained a reputation for being sacred. It is said that priests were the first to use oak emblems, and is still commonly seen by those in that profession.
Tachibana Orange
The tachibana orange is a small fruit which is extremely sour and not suitable for consumption. This emblem was first used by the imperial prince Tachibana no Moroe and his family. Also used by Ii of the Hikone domain.
