A simple emblem, but its name has many homonyms and is not clear what it represents. Used by the Ashikaga shogunate.

The deer were believed to be messengers of god. The deer of nara were particularly famous. Deer antlers have been used by warlords on their helms, and it is said that this turned into a family emblem.
