Chrysanthemum

The chrysanthemum is used as an emblem for the imperial family, ever since the Emperor Go-Toba from the Kamakura period. In the 4th year of Meiji period, all non-royal use of the emblem was outlawed.

Butterfly

This emblem is a pictorial representation of a butterfly. The emblem is often used by the family of Kiyomori.
