The origins of this emblem is unclear. It is said that the emblem represents the arm protector used by archers, or alternatively it is derived from a magatama which was used as a divine symbol.

Pine

Pine symbolise longevity. They are said to host spirits, and have been used in traditional Japanese decorations.

Crowbar

This emblem is a pictorial representation of a crowbar. There are also variants that look like scissors.
